The Associated Press reports that the House Bill to be voted on later this week costs $1.2 Trillion over the next decade. This, the 1,990 page bill being hurried through Congress equates to over $600,000,000 per page. Put another way, this $1.2 Trillion health care Leviathan costs more than $2.7 billion dollars per member that is eligible to vote on this bill. If the indication is correct the Speaker of the House will schedule a four hour allotment for debate on this bill on Friday, and call for a vote on Saturday. These four hours, divided equally, would mean each Congressional member owns just over 33 seconds to posit an opinion on the House floor. Once a forum for intellectual debate, now our Representatives have 33 seconds to opine on one of the largest bills in history addressing one-sixth of our Nation’s economy. For those of you playing at home, that is $83 million per second of debate on this bill.
