Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), Chairman Emeritus of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, is one of the driving forces behind the Democrat attempt to nationalize health care.  He was confronted at a town hall meeting last week by constituent Mike Sola who brought his adult son Scott to the meeting with him.  Scott suffers from cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair.  Sola said he was there to confront Dingell with information that the bill passed by his committee bars his son from coverage.  When Dingell made a vague reference to having passed an amendment in committee that would address the cerebral palsy issue specifically, the crowd erupted in shouts and boos.  Sola and his wheelchair-bound son were physically ejected from the town hall meeting by police.

In an appearance on Fox News yesterday, Sola told of “Obama thugs” visiting his house in the middle of the night after the town hall confrontation aired on national television.

While the President has been demanding those who oppose his government-run health care plan sit down and shut up, White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton yesterday slammed the brakes on Obama’s aggressive White House tone when asked about Pelosi and Hoyer calling those opposing Obamacare at town hall meetings “un-American.”  (Isn’t the President supposed to look, well, Presidential with a restrained tone while surrogates do the dirty work?)

“I think there’s actually a pretty long tradition of people shouting at politicians in America,” Burton said.  “The President thinks that if people want to come and have a spirited debate about health care, a real vigorous conversation about it, that’s a part of the American tradition and he encourages that, because people do have questions and concerns.”

Of course, Burton also said today’s New Hampshire Presidential town hall staged to camouflage his attempted government takeover of health care doesn’t have a hand-picked audience.

“The White House controlled the distribution of the free tickets to get into the gym at Portsmouth High School. And the Secret Service will take care of any unruliness,” the Boston Globe reported yesterday.
