Time to Take a Look in the Mirror

The more you are willing to accept responsibility for your actions, the more credibility you will have.

-- Brian Koslow (American author and entrepreneur)

At what point does the President plan on looking in the mirror and taking responsibility for some of the terrible things going on in our country nowadays?  We all know that in most of our everyday lives/jobs it is much simpler to take credit for something popular rather than unpopular. However, the President of the United States is no normal job.  You can’t simply deflect blame month after month and get away with it.  Or, can you?

President Obama has been doing just this for ~18 months and has subsequently received “pass” after pass from the media and many Americans.  I implore you to put your ear to the streets and see if you can survey some Americans on what they think of the situation. To me, it certainly sounds like President Obama is getting away with anything he wants, most of the time via pointing the finger at the previous Administration. Take the woman that works at the front desk of my apartment building for example.  She recently spotted me wearing a Bush Cheney t-shirt on my way out the door for a jog. As I asked her to hold my keys for me until I returned, she gave me a crooked look and said, “you want me to do this for you even though you’re wearing that?” Of course, I inquired further, unable to hold my tongue, and I confirmed that she still blames Bush for all of President Obama’s current problems.  Sure, his job is probably more demanding and taxing (pun intended) than yours or mine, but that cannot change the fact that we are all accountable for our actions.

It is time for the President to stop pointing the finger, take responsibility (after all, he is the President), and take a long, hard look in the mirror. So far, he has yet to do this, and as a result, the only thing lower than the President’s current ratings is his credibility.
