Causes: Funding research to find cures for cancer and multiple sclerosis. Background: Tom Sullivan's revolving door between government and the private sector started at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In 1998, Tom created the regulatory lobbying position at NFIB and was promoted to start the NFIB Small Business Legal Center. In 2001, Tom was nominated and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as Chief Counsel for Advocacy at the U.S. Small Business Administration. Now Tom is part of a growing government affairs practice at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. Tom is a Senior Fellow in Regulatory Studies at the Institute for Liberty, serves on the Advisory Board of the NFIB Small Business Legal Center, and is an advisor for the Center for Small Business and the Environment.
